Unit 4

This article is talk about the food administration in wartime. The process of the Food and Fuel Control Act to be implemented. On August 10, 1917, President Woodrow Wilson issued Executive Order 2679-A creating the U. S. Food Administration. And he created three policies about the food administration in order to implement them in each state. And Herbert Hoover thought in wartime citizens should sacrifice themslves to the country. The lever act gave the president power to regulate the distribution, export, import, purchase, and storage of food. The government wanted to collect and mobilize the food during World War 1.

This was a kind of policy or strategy to help the country went through the wartime. We know the importance of the people’s right and freedom. But in this emergency occasion, we should thinking about the overall interest. The food and fuel were the most  important ensure to win a war. If a country begain a war, the most benefit thing for the citizen is to end the war as soon as possible. The food must supply the war in time. If the military cannot be supplied duly and sufficiently, the country will be in trouble.
